Space Adventure

Dearest Skyler,

We were extremely late for church today as you woke us up quite late this morning. In fact, we only left the apartment after the service had started! :p

When we got there, the Sunday School had already started. Today was the first time that they were trying out splitting the older and younger toddlers up. The older group was in a room while the younger ones were at the usual place. As the room was quite small, Papa left Mama and you in there while he went off. You didn’t seem to enjoy being in there doing the older kids’ stuff. When you heard the music being played outside for the younger kids, you so wanted to go out so Mama brought you out. You really enjoy the music and actions, Lil’ One! :D

You were also such a good ‘che-che’ today. You took care of Mei-mei ‘Shanessa’(?). Even though she hit you as all small babies tend to do (you did this before at her age, remember?), you just ignored it and continued to care for her. Well done!

After Sunday School, we headed over to Raffles City to meet Kow-fu and Kow-moh for lunch. We had it at the sushi place as it was the only place with high chairs. We can’t understand why the food court doesn’t supply high chairs. Sigh...

You had such a fun time once again playing with Kow-fu and Kow-moh. They took turns feeding you before we took over again. :D

After lunch, we headed back to the cathedral as they were having some kind of Children’s Day carnival named ‘Space Adventure’ in the new sanctuary. They had a person dressed up as an astronaut and another as a star! When we wanted to go home, you refused and insisted on staying for the performances saying “Star! Star!” thus we had no choice but to stay as you were making such a big fuss! :p After the whole thing was over, we left. On the way out, Aunty Patricia gave you a goodie bag to bring home. It had so many things in it – a pen, a pencil, a notebook, a snack (which we’ll eat on your behalf), etc.. We’ll take care of it for you until you can play with the stuff in it, okay?

In the car, you napped all the way home. And once we got home you refused to nap anymore. Once again, Papa didn’t get any sleep since you refused to nap. Papa stayed up with you the rest of the afternoon watching TV, etc. You kept on asking for milk which Papa prepared for you but after taking a few sips, you kept on refusing to take anymore. This drove Papa nuts as it was such a waste of milk and Papa couldn’t understand why you were doing this.

After Mama woke up, Papa brought you along to the Point to pick up some dinner. Papa had intended to eat with you at the Point so that Mama would have more time to do her work but you fell asleep in the car and couldn’t be awakened! Papa had to carry your sleeping form to buy a take-away dinner! It was a tough balancing act as you were completely asleep and thus a deadweight balancing on one arm and Papa had to carry the food in the other hand. There were a few occasions when you completely slid off Papa’s shoulder and jerked awake only to go back to sleep again. You were still asleep in the car on the way home. You only woke up after we got back to our car park and walking back to our apartment. :p

Tonight was another night that you refused to sleep. You cried so much when we tried to put you to bed. You tried all your delaying tactics – asking for more milk, singing, being a baby, etc. In the end, you only went to bed near midnight and that was only after you were so exhausted and allowed Papa to sing you to sleep. Sigh… What’s happening with you, Lil’ One? Why are you facing difficulties going to bed? Poor Darling!

Papa and Mama love you!
