Papa’s On Leave!

Dearest Skyler,

Today’s the first day of Papa’s Professional Development Leave! Papa’s taken leave for the next few weeks to work on completing his studies. As a very big bonus, Papa will get to spend lots of time with you! :D

We went to the Point for a dim sum lunch after we woke up the second time. :D We had quite a bit of food. Thankfully, you ate quite a bit too! :D We didn’t spend too much time at the Point as we wanted to get to the zoo to catch the Splashing Safari show!

We rushed to the zoo and managed to catch the opening of the show - we were just in time! It was the usual show but you were as always amused by the sealion segment. However, it was the first time that Papa caught the whole show. :D

We then visited the Children’s World where we saw the sheep and goats again. As usual, you wanted to see them but you were still scared by the loud noise they make. :D As they were renovating that area we left soon after as it was very very dusty.

We walked through the Fragile Forest. A sloth was just next to us! We also saw the butterflies and bats. It was such a cool place to walk through. We also caught the token feeding of the Giraffes before taking a tram ride through the zoo. We dropped by the kangaroo and wallaby enclosure to watch people feed them. After that we left for our customary Milo drink at the zoo entrance.

When we wanted to leave the zoo, you refused! You wanted to sit in the driver’s seat of the car so we let you. However, whenever we tried to put you in your own seat, you made a big fuss. We ended walking around the front of the zoo for a while as we didn’t want to force you into your seat. We thus took photos with the elephant and California Sealion sculptures.

After a while, we had no choice but to put you in your car seat even though you still didn’t want to as it was already quite late and you were definitely sleepy-cranky. We came home and you slept all the way from the car to your bed. Papa joined you in taking a nap. :D

After we woke up, we went down to the Point for dinner. You ate some fish and did a bit of drawing at the food court. After dinner, you wanted to sit on the kiddy rides so we brought you. While you were sitting on the Able Sailor ride, you pressed a button and it started moving! Thankfully, you were okay with it as it was not so vigorous. You also sat on a few more rides on the way downstairs. We visited the kids’ emporium where you enjoyed yourself sitting on the swing set that they had. We then bought some groceries and Mama brought you to sit on the horsey merry-go-round. Then we came home.

What a full day!

We love you Lil’ One!
