Lantern Festival

Dearest Skyler,

We went down to Mama’s secondary school this afternoon as Mama wanted to give a box of mooncakes to her former teachers. Mama spent a bit of time catching up with one of them with you on her arm while Papa waited in the Duckie Mobile. :D It’s so great, Lil’ One! We’re planning to send you to the same school as Mama as she has such great memories about her education there and some of the teachers who taught Mama are still there! :D

After Mama was done, we drove off to Mama’s school as Mama had to meet up with Aunty Patsy to do something. Papa and you left Mama there as Mama was going to take some time and Mama also had to go to the library to get some more things done.

Papa brought you to the nearby car showroom to take a look at a new car that they were launching. It was quite an ordinary looking car except that the platform is higher than the standard sedan so it quite suits our needs, Lil’ One. It makes it easier for us to get in and out and to put things into the car. With our bum knees, that helps a lot! :D But we still can’t afford to change cars – it’s too expensive! :p

After we left the car showroom, Papa and you headed off to Grandma’s. You spent a bit of time there playing with Grandma and jumping on her bed before we left to go back to pick Mama up.

When we’d picked Mama up, we drove over to IMM for dinner. You hardly ate anything, Lil’ One. Sigh… But at least you didn’t kick up a fuss about wanting to walk around. You’ve become very good at sitting at the dining table while we have our meals. :D Again, you wanted to sit in the kiddy rides that we came across. :D

We then headed off to the Chinese Garden as they were having a lantern festival there. The whole place was filled with lots and lots of colourful lanterns in all shapes and sizes, Lil’ One. It was so brightly lit! We walked around the whole gardens looking at all the lanterns. We also got free mini lanterns. To our surprise, we also bumped into Mama’s former teacher that you met in the afternoon! :D She was there with a couple of colleagues and their children. :D Papa also met an old coursemate and his family and an old army buddy with his family as well.

After we’d seen most of the exhibits, we headed home as it was already quite late. To our surprise, you were actually quite awake throughout the day. You hardly napped in the car at all! You were awake practically the whole time until we got home! You must have been so tired by then!

Skyler, you’re still wandering off without Papa and Mama and that is really really really very dangerous. We don’t like it. We will keep on scolding you until you stop it, you understand? It is simply not safe as anything may happen to you and we may not know about it. Please listen to us and always be with us or at least ensure that we are with you before you go wandering off.

We brought Grandma home to stay over with us. She’ll be us for the next couple of days, okay? We love you!

Papa and Mama
