Books!
Dearest Skyler,
Papa had to go in to work this morning so Mama and you spent most of the day at home. Mama took the opportunity to introduce to you the joy of playing with dough. :D Mama had bought flour some time ago thinking that we would spend some time making dough figures with you. Mama had also bought some colouring for the figures. :D Oh! We had also bought a smock for you so that you wouldn’t dirty your clothing playing with the dough. :D And a set of cookie shape cutters so that we could get some shapes. :D However, we think you are still too young, Lil’ One. You had lots of fun mixing the dough and playing around with it but you could not appreciate making shapes as yet. :D
Later in the afternoon, Mama brought you down to Papa’s work place to pick him up. We decided to go down to Wheelock Place as we wanted to buy some more books for you. :D When we got there, it was time for dinner so we brought you to the sushi place. However, you refused to eat anything! You kicked up such a fuss that Papa had to bring you out for a walk.
Papa and you walked around the toy store and you once again asked to play with the Heffalump. When Papa first passed it to you, it was so huge that you actually toppled over from its weight! :p Once you had remembered how to balance its weight, you started running around the shop with it again with Papa holding up its rear. :p After a while, Papa brought you back to the sushi place as Papa still had not eaten his dinner. Mama then took over bringing you out as you still refused to eat! And we changed shifts once more before the meal ended. :(
After dinner, we went down to Borders so that Mama could get you some more books. You had picked up a book immediately upon entering the store and you refused to let go of it. This time, the alarm sounded when you took the book out of the store. :p You also kept on walking up and down the stairs when we came to them. :D
We have gotten you lots and lots of books, Lil’ One. We have even bought you books that we will only let you have when you are older as they are too difficult for you to appreciate right now. :D We pray that you will learn to enjoy reading the way Mama and Papa do. :D You’ve shown some signs of being interested in books already. You keep on flipping through the books that we already have lying around your play area and your book shelf. Remember, Lil’ One, reading is the passport to all sorts of knowledge!
We love you, Lil’ One!
