Zoo with Aunty Rachel and Kor-Kor Isaac

Dearest Little Skyler,

Today, we went to the zoo with Aunty Rachel and Kor-Kor Isaac. We met them at the entrance to the zoo. We rented a Tiny Explorer wagon to put kor-kor Isaac and you in but after a while, you refused to remain in it and Papa and Mama had to carry you practically throughout our stay at the zoo. Papa ended up putting his bag on your seat. :P

We walked around the zoo and looked at the animals. We so love to bring you to the zoo now as you can actually look at the animals with some sort of cognition. After a while, we decided to stop outside the giraffe enclosure to have a snack of grapes, blue berries and yoghurt that Aunty Rachel supplied. It was so cute seeing you and kor-kor Isaac sitting in the wagon eating your food.

We then saw the zoo keepers feeding the giraffes and later on the jaguars as well. This allowed us to see the animals close up. We then walked on a bit more and we came to the Fragile Forest exhibit where you promptly fell asleep. You simply could not stay awake and Papa had to carry you throughout our walk there.

We went on a tour with a guide who pointed out to us most of the animals and creatures kept in that enclosure – we saw roaches, beetles, butterflies, sloths, mousedeers, bats, the biggest pigeon known to mankind, and many other creatures. We were so glad that we waited for the guide to bring us around or we would not have known half as much if we had walked around on our own. We ended the tour with a feeding of Archer fish – fish that could shoot water out of its mouth at bugs like crickets that are hanging on leaves above the water to knock them off into the water so that they can eat them.

After we left the Fragile Forest, we went over to the Children’s World Playland section. There kor-kor Isaac went to play in the water and Mama and Papa brought you to play with the swing. You managed to sit on the swing for a few oscillations before you looked worried so Mama and Papa took you off of it.

We then fed you some milk and a few grapes at the eating section there before we headed out as it looked like it was going to rain again. On our way out, we saw the elephant ride area and the horse drawn carriage came around a few times. We quickly hurried out as we were afraid of getting stuck there in the rain yet again.

We hope you enjoyed your third visit to the zoo this week, Little One. We’re Friends of the Zoo so we’ll end up there more often this year. :D

We love you, Sweetheart.

Mama and Papa
