Skyler’s Two Years Old!

Dearest Skyler,

You’re two years old today! :D Wow! You’re so grown up already! :D

Papa had to go in to work today! So sorry! Papa missed you so much as he really wanted to spend your birthday with you! :(

Godpa Ben and Godma Steph had delivered a big bunch of balloons! It was so colourful that you had such a ball with them. :D

Gong-gong and Popo came early in the afternoon to spend the day with you and you were so excited by their coming that you kept on asking where they were before they arrived. You had so much fun playing with them – you played with dough with them and they brought you downstairs with your tricycle.

Later in the afternoon, Grandma came as well to spend time with you. It’s such a rare occasion that you have all your grandparents together with you at the same time. :D

Papa had to work later than he had wished for thus he rushed home and brought dinner back for everyone.

After dinner, Papa and Mama drove down to the Point to get you a birthday cake. You stayed at home with your grandparents.

After a while, Gong-gong and Popo brought you downstairs for a walk. When we got back, we found you there. Godpa Ben had just called Papa at that point in time and asked to speak with you so you did.

We then went back upstairs to have your birthday cake. :D It was quite yummy! :D After having sung your birthday song and eaten the cake, your grandparents left to go home as it was quite late already. :p

You’d received so many birthday presents this time round. :D Play with them well. :D

After they’d left, we spent a bit of time assembling your bed again. We’ve been doing a bit of it every night – there’s been some progress. :D

You’re already two years old! It’s so fast! You’re able to do so many things and say so many things. It’s been a great two years, Lil’ One. You’ve been such a joy to have in our family. Thank you for being you!

Papa and Mama love you!

Trunk

Dearest Skyler,

You’re so cute, Lil’ One! Everytime we refer to a tree trunk you will think that we are talking about an elephant’s trunk! :D You would then make the sign for an elephant trunk and make the trumpeting sound of an elephant! :D

Aunty Bili came to celebrate your birthday and help pack the house. Thank you, Aunty Bili! :D

Godpa Ben called to wish you a Happy Birthday thinking your birthday was today. Thank you, Godpa!

Later in the evening, we assembled the drawers for your bed. It’s coming along, Lil’ One! :D

You were so cute, Lil’ One. You wagged finger side to side when saying 'No touch!' while cooking on your toy kitchen stove. You’ve completely learnt to say so many of the things we say to you. :D By the way, where did you learn to wag your finger? :p
Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler's Bed

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early today and asked for milk. Papa fed you before putting you back to bed.

We're not going to carry you while preparing your milk anymore, okay? Mama's not supposed to carry you too much as she's got Baby in her. Thus, it's not good for her to carry you while preparing your milk. We know you like us to do so but you're too heavy now. You can stand on the stool to watch us, okay?

In the afternoon, we went to the Point for a dim sum lunch. You ate almost two whole 'bao's by yourself! Papa and you then shared a double-scoop of Swensen's ice cream! :D

We walked around a short while and bought some stuff before rushing home as your bed was being delivered. When we got home, the delivery men were already there - they were early.

You then took a nap with Mama.

After you got up, we shared a 'bao' before Papa brought you to the nearby shops to get dinner.

After dinner, you watched some TV while Papa and Mama put your bed together. You got a bit cranky because we couldn't spend time with you while we were assembling the bed. Sorry! It just wasn't safe for you to be in there.

Anyway, we had to stop as they didn't give us some parts and the bed frame hadn't been marked adequately. Oh well... Your bed won't be ready as early we’d hoped.

We spent a bit of time with you before going to bed.

We love you, Lil' One.

Christmas Day

Dearest Skyler,

Merry Christmas, Lil’ One! :D

You woke us up at 6 plus this morning asking for milk. You must have been so hungry. You were so sleepy last night that you couldn't even stay awake for milk. So, Papa got up to give you your milk before we all went back to bed.

You're so immune to feeling cold, it seems. Papa and Mama were freezing and had to cover ourselves but you had just slept in bed refusing to be under a blanket!

At 7 plus, it was our turn to wake you for breakfast. We dressed you and brought you down though you were so sleepy. While we were at the table, we started stacking jam jars and you called it a snowman and asked where its nose and eyes were. :D You had a bit of food before you fell asleep at the table. So poor thing!

After breakfast, we went back to the room to resume sleeping as we were still sleepy. By the time we got up, it was time to check out.

While Papa was packing, he realised that your jacket wasn't around. Mama remembered that we'd left it at the breakfast table. She rushed down to look for it and managed to get it back. We were quite disappointed that they had not made any effort to get it back to us since they knew which room we were in. Oh well...

After we'd checked out, we drove over to Grandma's place for a late lunch. You did your usual things there - playing with the coins, jumping on her bed, climbing all over her sofa, etc. :D

We left soon after as we were still very tired. We headed home to unpack and then take a nap.

In the evening, after we got up, we went out to get dinner. After dinner, you watched quite a bit of TV before turning in.

Mama was feeling really terrible today. Your sibling must really be growing. Sigh... Poor Mama.
Papa and Mama love you!

Christmas Eve

Dearest Skyler,

Mama brought you to Aunty Chris's to receive your Christmas present.

We then brought Mama to see the baby doctor at the hospital. It was so exciting! The doctor managed to do an ultrasound and printed a photo of baby for us.

We then had lunch at Delifrance.

After that we drove down to Ritz Carlton Hotel to spend Christmas Eve. We went to the swimming pool for a dip. We borrowed a float for you when we realised that they were loaning these out. You so enjoyed it as it allowed you to float in the water. This was the first time that you used such a thing. :D We must let you use the one that we have at home when we go swimming the next time. :D

We then came back up to bathe and took a nap.

After that, we went down for dinner in Marina Square before coming back to the hotel. We had some fish and rice before we had a few slices of toast that you totally enjoyed.

We bumped into Godpa Ben and Godma Steph at the restaurant here. They were so thrilled to see you!

Aunty Bili came up to visit after that and she gave you your Christmas and birthday gifts. She gave you a big kitchen set and a framed poster for your room. You had so much fun opening them.

Kow-fu and Kow-moh came to visit as well. And they brought more gifts! You were so excited to see them! Once they arrived, your face completely lit up! You dashed to give them their candy canes! And they gave you your very own Barney plush toy! Of course we then had to hold hands to sing the Barney song. :D

You were so cute! You'd watched an episode of Jojo's Circus where she pretended to be a robot and you imitated her with sound effects and all! And you did it for all of them to watch! :D You were so sleepy already but you lasted all the way to close to midnight.

You also watched the 'Finding Nemo' movie for the first time there. We had brought it along to entertain you.
Papa and Mama love you!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Dearest Skyler,

We went for Church today – late as usual. Sigh… We just find it so difficult to wake up and rush to get ready for church. I guess the distance we have to travel doesn’t help very much. :p

After church we went for lunch at the nearby Sushi Tei. As they had no tables available, we sat at the counter. Even though you sat in a high chair, you couldn't see anything as it was still too low. However, you made no fuss at all.

After lunch we came home to rest. As we were all so tired, we all took a nap.

Later in the evening, we all drove down to the church group’s Christmas outreach. It was held at somebody’s home. We met a few friends from church there such as Che-che Wei Ai. We had dinner before we played some games. The balloons that they had inflated kept bursting and made you a bit distressed. We had to leave early as we had to attend Mama’s relative’s birthday party.

Mama’s relatives had come back from Australia. It was one of their daughter’s birthday. We had a bit more food and met Gong-gong and Popo there. You were so excited to see them. You kept on trying to get their attention and didn’t let them catch up with their own relatives. :p

Later in the evening, we brought Gong-gong and Popo home before coming home ourselves.

Just before we went to sleep you kissed baby in Mama's tummy! :D We’re going to have to introduce you to the new baby in the family, Lil’ One! You must be ready to have a sibling, okay?
Papa and Mama love you!

The Whole Day Out

Dearest Skyler,

We quickly got dressed to leave once we got up.

We drove down to Raffles City for lunch at the Japanese restaurant.

On the walk to the restaurant, we stopped by the dress stall to buy you the dress that Grandma wanted to buy for you.

We didn't bother to ask for a high chair at the restaurant as you don't really like to sit in one anymore. But this isn't the norm now, okay? It'll depend on what kinds of seats there are. :p

We then brought you to Fox to buy you a pullover as you looked so cute when you tried it on before at the other outlet.

Papa then brought you over to the Funan Centre Swensen's for some ice cream. The managers there were so nice to you - they gave you a standard balloon, a balloon dog and a bag of party novelties!

But the che-ches there shocked Papa by the way they wasted ice cream! Papa had requested a couple of flavours with one amendment. The che-che who took the request asked another che-che to prepare it. The latter got a scoop of another flavour and Papa told her that it was not what he wanted and she just threw it away! She then scooped both flavours onto the cone but they were so huge that they threatened to topple. So, in the end, Papa asked for it to be put into a cup intending that they just pour what they had already scooped into the cup but she just threw it away as well. Papa was so shocked at the waste! Oh well...

We walked around the place eating the huge amount of ice cream before we headed back to Mama.

When we met up with Mama again, we bought some Christmas presents before Mama brought you to play at a place that Robinsons had set up - you had balloon sculpting, bead making, drawing, face painting, etc. They also provided pop corn and candy floss.

When you had explored enough we brought you to visit the fountain before heading for Godma's for a Christmas gathering.

When we got to Godma's place, you wanted to see the fish being fed so Godma did so. - Aunty Karen's family came as well. As all the children in her family were girls, there really were a lot of girls running around. :D Aunty Karen shared the mee suah that she had brought for Charissa with you. :D You also had some of the dim sum that we had – you ate four egg tarts! You had lots of fun playing with the fish tank.

After dinner, we handed out presents and you got lots of stuff! :D You also played with the girls through the night.

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler's Mattress

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today.

You stayed home with Mama for most of the day.

Later in the morning, Aunty Seow Hwee came to visit and you had some fun playing with her. :D

Papa came back later in the afternoon.

We drove down to the Point for dinner at the Chinese restaurant. You only a bit but had quite a bit of the egg tart we'd bought to eat while waiting for our food to come. You so love egg tarts, Lil’ One. :D

After dinner, we drove down to Ikea Tampines to buy mattresses for the bed we'd bought you. You had so much fun running around and clambering all over the furniture. We ended up buying some chairs to replace our dining table chairs as well. We think that these chairs will be safer for you as well as they don’t have so many gaps. The main reason we’re changing our chairs is that the current ones make quite a bit of noise when we shift around in them. This noise sometimes disturb you when you’ve gone to sleep.

We came home after that.

Papa and Mama love you!

Loving Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

Today is Papa and Mama's 15th Anniversary of being together! :D Papa and Mama have been together for so long, haven’t we? :D And we’re more in love with each other than when we first started! :D

We went to the Point for lunch. After lunch, Papa and Mama bought cards for each other and we had to write our messages in front of each other. Hahahaha! It’s so funny, we used to have all the time in the world to buy each other cards and write them in private. We would even make time to get each other gifts but since you’ve been around, we’ve not had the opportunity at all! :p But you have been so worthwhile, Lil’ One! You’re the most precious gift that we could ever ask each other for. :D

In the afternoon, we brought you to Kow-fu and Kow-moh's so we could catch a movie. We had to ask Moh-moh to meet us downstairs as we were late already. Thus, she very kindly came down to bring you up to their apartment. You enjoyed yourself playing with them so much that you tired yourself out and fell asleep on their sofa.

Papa and Mama came back to pick you up after our movie. We then went over to United Square for dinner. It was so coincidental! We met the manager of the Pastamania in the Point at the outlet there. We all shared quite a bit of food.

Papa brought you then brought you into the paddle boat they had there. It was a very small boat that used arm power. Everytime Papa got in and out, the boat threatened to capsize! :p But you so enjoyed the experience, Lil’ One. And Papa was so glad to have experienced it with you. :D

We then had you try on clothes. You looked so cute in them! In the end, we bought you a cute pullover.

After that we came home.

You were so sweet! Papa had bumped his foot and it hurt! When you noticed that, you knelt down in front of Papa to Papa’s shock and surprise. Papa didn’t know what you were doing when suddenly you kissed Papa's foot! We had taken to kissing the spots where you hurt yourself and you were returning the favour, Lil’ One. You so surprised us! You’re such a marvellous, Lil’ Gal!

Papa and Mama love you! Thanks for celebrating our anniversary with us! :D

Baby Bear

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to work again.

You were so sleepy today. You went back to bed for a nap soon after waking up. :p You didn't have very much for lunch at all.

You so like the bear that Aunty Rachel gave you for your birthday that you kept on asking Mama to take photos of you with it. That’s so cute! :D

In the afternoon, you started pulling out all the tissue from TWO tissue boxes! You realised that you'd done something naughty after that so you went up to Mama to apologise. It’s great that you know right from wrong, Lil’ One! :D But try to know that before you do the wrong thing? :p

Papa came back in the afternoon and we all drove down to meet Grandma and we had dinner at Ikea.

Papa and Mama then left you with Grandma for a while to get something. You went to play with all the kid's toys and also tried out all the beds! :D You kept Grandma totally busy keeping up with you.

Papa and Mama came back soon after. We looked at some mattresses for you before we drove Grandma home and came home ourselves.

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler Has Fun

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today.

Popo and Gong-gong came to play with you. You had so much fun with them. Gong-gong entertained you tremendously and you impressed them with all that they saw you do and heard you say. (Papa and Mama are impressed too.) You're such a smart girl!

Besides playing in the apartment, Popo and Gong-gong brought you downstairs with your trike too.

You so didn't want Popo and Gong-gong to leave that they had to walk you to our car when it was time for Mama and you to come pick Papa up.

After meeting up with Papa, we all drove to Aunty Rachel's for a gathering with Mama's former colleagues and their families. You had some fun playing with all the kor-kors and che-ches there.

We all celebrated yours and Aunty Rachel's birthdays. Then all the children got Christmas presents! :D

By the time we left, you were so tired from playing the whole day! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Jingle Bells Performance

Dear Skyler,

Papa went in to work this morning. Mama got you to sleep in as late as possible so that you would be better rested.

When Papa came home, Mama and you were at the organ performing 'Jingle Bells'. You accompanied Mama with the tambourine. You were SO cute! You shook it in an appropriate way at suitable points. :D You were SO spontaneous!

We went to the Point for lunch - at the Thai restaurant. It was a disaster. You refused to eat any of the food as they all tasted strange to you.

We walked around a bit before we headed to the supermarket to buy some groceries. We dropped it off at home before heading to town.

We drove to Wheelock Place. We went to Marks and Spencer to buy stuff. Suddenly Papa felt a patch of wet and realised that you had peed through your diaper onto his shirt. Papa quickly brought you to get changed. :p

We then walked around Borders before heading to Peninsula Plaza to buy a gift for Kow-fu as he has just started on a new appointment.

After that we went to Popo's for dinner with Gong-gong who'd just returned to Singapore. Bubu and Moh-moh were there as well. You had such a great time with Gong-gong! :D We also gave Bubu his gift there. :D Congratulations, Bubu!

We headed home after dinner.

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler's Bed

Dearest Skyler,

We missed church again.

We were sitting around in the living room in the morning and Papa and Mama were watching you play when all of a sudden you came up to Mama and Papa to kiss and hug us! We were so surprised! Thank you, Lil’ One!

Later, we went to the Point for lunch at the Chinese restaurant.

While we were there, we bought you a bed, Lil' One! Your very own bed! It comes wIth a pull out bed so your sibling can share the bed with you. :D

We then went to buy bed sheets for you. You kept on playing with a 'dummy' until you accidentally tipped it over. Papa just managed to catch it before it fell onto the floor. Mama got you to apologise to the store assistants. You must listen to us, okay? :p

We walked around a bit before heading home. The place was quite crowded.

We all took a nap after we got home.

We got up for dinner. Papa and you went to get dinner. Mama couldn't really eat it. She requested 'dou hua' after that so Papa rushed off to the Point to get it. Poor Mama, she’s really suffering quite badly from the morning sickness. Sigh… Just like when she had you!

Papa and Mama love you!

Japanese Christmas Service

Dearest Skyler,

You woke early today for your milk before heading back to bed after one episode of 'Louie'.

When we woke up again, we went to collect Mama's spectacles before dropping Mama off in church to prepare for the Japanese Christmas Service where she was singing in the choir.

Papa and you went to have lunch at Swensen's where you picked up a standard balloon and a flower balloon sculpture given by the manager.

We then walked around a bit. They'd brought in the Alien and Predator creatures for a photo-taking session and you kept on wanting to look at them. :p

We also went upstairs to get a free photo print from HP.

The management had also brought in the 'Alvin and the Chipmunk' characters.

We then stopped by McDonald's for a Hot Fudge Sundae and also collect yet another balloon. :D

We went back to church for the Christmas service. When we got back, the choir was still rehearsing so we had to wait until they were done before we could meet Mama. After a short while, Mama had to go sit with the rest of the choir so we went outside to the fish pond.

We were there until Grandma, Kow-fu and Kow-moh came. We all then took our seats to await the start of the service.

You sat with Papa and Grandma for a short while before asking to sit with Bubu and Moh-moh. Papa brought you to them and left you with them.

You played with them for the rest of the service until the last medley of Christmas carols when you fell asleep on their laps. :D But, you woke up when the choir wished everyone 'Merry Christmas!' and you clapped a bit before falling back asleep! :D

Mama, Grandma and you then went to the sushi place in Raffles City for dinner. You didn't want to sit in your high chair so we let you sit on the bench with us. You kept on crawling back and forth between Grandma and us. :D

After dinner, Grandma wanted to buy you a dress for Christmas. You were asked to choose between a beige and a pink one and you vacillated between them for a while before firming up on the beige one. Grandma spotted that there was a problem with the hem so we decided to pick up a new one from another branch. Thank you, Grandma!

You then wanted to look at the 'big fountain' so we all trooped downstairs.

After viewing the fountain for a while, Papa had to do something so we went off to do it. While we were there at the machine, you wanted to press one of the buttons and ended up pressing one that resulted in something Papa didn't want! Papa was so frustrated with you. Oh well... You were just playing; you didn't know what you were doing.

We then brought you into the bookshop for a while as you wanted to 'read'.

We went back into the department store and realised that there was a performance by an acapella group called 'Vocaluptuous'. Papa and Mama love that group as they are very good. We caught the tail end of their performance before we drove Grandma home and headed home ourselves.

What a long day!
Papa and Mama love you!

Doctor!

Dearest Skyler,

Papa went in to work today.

Mama brought you to Aunty Chris’s to play. Che-che Joan played ‘Trains’ with Meimei Dawn and you. She would be the engineer and the two of you were passengers. It was so cute! You also helped to care for Dawn - you held her hand and walked around with her. :D

Papa came back in the evening. We all drove down to Suntec City. We had dinner at The Sundanese Restaurant. You wanted to feed yourself even though Papa was worried that you would spill the food. Though you held a spoon, you ended up using your fingers to feed yourself. :p Oh well… At least it was slightly less messy than you dropping food all over. :p

We then took a walk to Carrefour to buy some things before heading home. Mama was very ill throughout the trip. You were so sweet. Everytime Mama or Papa told you that Mama wasn't feeling well, you would say 'Doctor'! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

'Ginger Bao'

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today. Mama had to care for you by herself though she was feeling under the weather. Papa had to stay in school way past the time he expected.

Mama brought you back to bed for a nap after you had been awake for a while as you were so sleepy.

After you got up from your nap, you had the porridge that Papa had prepared before he left for work.

When you were done, Mama brought you to Aunty Christine's place to visit. Kok-kor and Che-che weren't around so you both spent time with Aunty and Mei-mei Dawn only. You had so much fun caring for Mei-mei.

After some time, Mama brought you home and waited for Papa to return.

Papa drove us all down to church after he got home. Mama had choir practice. We went for dinner first at Funan Centre. We then walked Mama back for her practice before we headed to Raffles City to visit the fountains.

We also visited the bookshop for a while. We then headed back to church to wait for Mama. When we got back, she still wasn't done so we hung around to wait. We visited the fish too. :D While we were waiting for Mama, her friends all wanted to play with you but you were so shy.

On the way home, you kept on asking for 'ginger bao'. You'd done that the past few nights as well. Mama figured out that you were actually asking for the song 'Jingle Bells' to be played - over and over again. :D

Papa and Mama love you!

1, 2, 3 ...

You counted to 10 all by yourself today! Mama’d been teaching you to count and we kept on watching the 1 to 10 song on Sesame Street and you finally have done it on your own! :D

We went to Crystal Jade for a dim sum lunch today. That’s about the main thing we eat nowadays as Mama can’t really eat very much of anything else. It’s the safest and easiest for her in her condition.

After lunch, we walked around to look for a bed for you. We saw a couple that may be suitable but we’ll think about it a bit more first. :D You had such great fun climbing onto all the other furniture in the stores.

We then walked over to the library to return our books. While we were there, we went to look at a Childcare place. They had fairly good security and a playground. However, you were so sleepy that you wanted to sleep with the students who were there as you’d seen that they were napping on our tour of the place! :p Papa had to grab you to stop you from going into the rooms! :p

How do you feel about that place, Lil’ One? Mama and Papa don’t want to leave you at a child care place but we may have to as Mama has to make time to do her work and when Baby is born, to take care of Baby. Sigh… How? Will you be okay at places like this? You definitely will enjoy all the activities but will you be okay without someone you’re comfortable with there? Sigh…

After that, we came home to rest.

Later, in the evening, we went down to China Square to get something done. Mama brought you to sit on big potty as you said you needed to boom but nothing happened.

After we were done, we went to Raffles City. Mama had gone to meet her friends. Papa and you met Grandma for dinner at Café Cartel where we had pork chop again. You had quite a few bites of the food! :D

Grandma, Papa and you then went walking down Bras Basah Road to look at the Christmas lights. We had targetted to walk to Centerpoint but we only made it to Meridien Hotel. Grandma dashed off to get a lift from her friend home. She didn't even say goodbye properly. Papa and you were left dumbfounded as we had not expected that. Oh well…

Papa and you then walked back to Raffles City to meet Mama. Papa brought you to visit the fountain as Mama wasn’t there yet. We met Mama there before walking through the supermarket where you had great fun playing with the fruits and vegetables. :D

We came home after that.
Papa and Mama love you!

Rides Move

Dearest Skyler,

We stayed home in the morning and most of the afternoon today. Papa prepared porridge for lunch again.

After lunch, we packed some more as we really have lots of your old stuff to move around. Well, actually, your stuff are not old but you’ve outgrown them. We hope that Baby will be able to make use of them. :p

Later in the evening, we went down to United Square to meet Kow-fu And Kow-moh for dinner at Soup Restaurant. As they were not there yet, Papa took you for a walk around. We saw the paddle boats in the fountain area. They were hand operated. Quite interesting. But Papa wondered what the thrill was as the area was very very small. There was no where to go!

Later on, Bubu and Moh-moh came and we had our dinner. You were a bit fussy during dinner so after Bubu and Moh-moh were done, they took you out for a walk while Mama and Papa continued eating.

They brought you to the kiddie rides area and Bubu sponsored rides on Thomas the Tank Engine and Barney and Friends! :p You had so much fun on the train as there were so many things to do! :D

We went home soon after that!

Papa and Mama love you!

A Day At Home

Dearest Skyler,

We stayed home today. We were just so tired and lazy. Well, Papa and Mama were anyway. :p Papa prepared porridge for lunch.

We spent the day packing the house and made space for stuff from your room so that we could clear it. Thus, we had to clear out our storeroom and throw some stuff away. Then we moved the things we had placed in your room in there. We are preparing your room for when you move in, Lil’ One. Soon, we’ll have your bed in there and you can a room of your own – until Baby grows up big enough to share it with you. :p

Papa and Mama love you!

Slow Day

Dearest Skyler,

We missed church again as we were all quite tired and couldn’t get up in time to make it. :p Mama’s experiencing Morning Sickness and this makes her really tired.

We went to Crystal Jade for lunch at the Point and shopped a bit before coming home. We lazed around the whole afternoon and even took a nap. :p

Later in the evening, we drove over to Popo's place for dinner. You again played with you car. You also sat very comfortably in your high chair with your legs all sprawled out. You’ve grown up so much. You are now able to climb up the stairs fairly comfortably.

After dinner, we headed home.
Papa and Mama love you!

Walk-Walk

Dearest Skyler,

We went to Godma Audrey's place in the morning as Mama wanted to borrow something. You so enjoyed visiting her. You looked at her fish in the tank and played with her cushions. She loves you so much!

We drove down to the expensive dim sum restaurant for lunch today. We had to sit next to the pool as it was crowded. You wanted to walk around the place to look at the pool, etc.
We then drove down to church. You were so sleepy you slept in the car and Papa stayed with you. Mama went for her choir practice. After you woke up, Papa brought for a long walk to Marina Square where we had a Milo at the Burger King as everywhere else was so crowded.

We then took a walk around the mall before we headed back to church. After we got back, we found that Mama still hadn't ended. Thus, you wandered around the church exploring. We took lots of photos of you climbing all over the furniture and such! Good thing no one caught us. :p

When Mama was done, we headed to the car to leave. As Papa's hands were full, Papa placed you down so that he could put things in the car. Mama was doing something in church and she came out a bit later. You saw her and walked to go meet her. A car came at that time and it would have crossed your path. You didn't seem to have noticed it. It was so dangerous! You must watch out for traffic, okay? Thank God nothing happened. Both Papa and Mama called out to you to stop and you managed to do so in time.

We drove to Bedok to buy dinner. You had fallen asleep again. After Papa had gathered all the food, we headed off to Grandma's to eat. :D

Grandma was so happy to see you. You once again played with her collection of coins. You so enjoyed that. :D

When we had completed dinner, we headed home.
Papa and Mama love you so much!

Traveling Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

Mama brought you for a Singapore Symphony Orchestra performance today entitled ‘Baby Proms’. It was such a fun thing for you to attend. The orchestra made a big effort to entertain little ones by playing music suitable for you all and they were very relaxed as well. At the end of the performance, you were allowed to go up on stage to interact with the musicians and touch some of the instruments. Mama encouraged you to touch the violin and you finally did. :D We hope that you’ll learn to like to play the violin when you’re a bit older, Lil’ One.

You also managed to pick up a balloon sculpture to play with and you carried it all the way after that. :D

After the performance ended, Mama and you went outside to get the conductor’s autograph before heading for lunch with Aunty Rachel at Raffles City. After lunch, Aunty Rachel bought a Christmas tree and to help her get it home, Mama and you drove her home. :D

After that both of you came to pick Papa up from work. Papa was supposed to have brought you and Mama for the Baby Proms but he had to work at the last minute. Sorry, Mama! Sorry, Lil’ One!

At Papa’s school, you met Aunty Ching Ching's daughter. She was so much more open than you, Lil’ One. She was smiling at you and willing to shake your hand but you were so apprehensive. Oh well… You also looked at the fish pond before we headed for dinner and then home. :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler’s Going to be a Big Sister!

Dearest Skyler,

We got up early today to visit Papa and Mama’s doctor near Popo’s home. We wanted to get flu vaccinations for ourselves and Mama also had to check with the doctor about something – Mama had to confirm if she was pregnant! And the doctor confirmed it! :D Skyler, you’re going to be a che-che with your very own mei-mei or di-di!

We’re so excited about this. We wanted you to have a sibling to grow up with as we were afraid that you would be lonely. Also, you’ve brought us so much joy that we felt that we should have another child to share the love and joy that we have in our little family. :D

Anyway, Papa was the only one who received the vaccination as Mama couldn’t have it yet since she was pregnant. You calmly sat on Papa’s lap and watched the doctor jab Papa. You’re so cute! The rest of the day, when you saw Papa’s arm where the injection was administered, you kept on poking your finger there and saying ‘jab-jab’. It hurts! But you’re so cute when you did it. :p

We went over to Popo’s place after the doctor’s to give her a lift to her shop. We also told her that you were going to be a che-che and she was so excited and happy for us. We also told Kow-fu and Kow-moh! And Grandma (who subsequently emailed both Ma-ko and Ah-Pek before Papa could do so). :p

We drove Popo to town before we headed off to Suntec City for lunch and to give Mama a chance to get her haircut. We had lunch at the Bak-kut Teh place where you only ate a small piece of meat and very little rice. You had actually wanted to eat your favourite corn but we didn’t feel like it then. Sorry!

We then walked around the whole place a bit more – we had an ice cream cone together and you so enjoyed yourself running around the place that we sat at to eat it.

When we were done, Mama had to go off for her haircut so Papa and you stayed around there to watch the Looney Tunes show that they had outside Carrefour. Papa thought that you would lose interest in the show but you wanted to stay for the whole performance. :D At the end of the performance, they shot some confetti into the crowd and Papa picked a few pieces up to let you play with.

We then took a slow walk to where Mama was having her haircut. You explored everything you could on the way. :D It took us almost an hour to get to Mama’s hairdresser’s. By then, Papa thought that Mama would be close to being done but we found out that the whole process had been very slow. As we were tired by then, we just sat in an empty chair next to Mama to watch her.

You watched her getting her hair blow-dried and then cut. Papa and you were so sleepy that we fell asleep while waiting for Mama. You sat on Papa’s lap and fell asleep and Papa slept too! Sorry that it was so uncomfortable, Lil’ One.

After Mama was done, we headed off to buy some fruit from Carrefour and then bought a few toys – we bought a Play-Doh set for you to play with. It’ll be less messy than making dough ourselves! :D

We then packed dinner before driving Mama off to church for her choir practice. You were so exhausted by then that we decided to let you sleep in the car. You woke up an hour later! :D

You wanted Milo when you woke up so Papa brought you to the McDonald’s at Funan Centre for a cup. The nice manager che-che there gave you a balloon. You only had about half the cup before you refused to take any more.

Then you started asking for something that sounded like ‘bear-back’ or ‘bare bag’ … Papa couldn’t figure out what you wanted at all! There was nothing in the place we were in that Papa could use as a clue. You got so worked up by Papa’s inability to understand that you started fussing. Papa then took his bag filled with your stuff to show you everything that was in it to see if any of it was what you wanted. You got so frustrated that you took everything out and threw them onto the floor. Papa then tried to get you to pick them up but you refused and just kept on crying.

One of the counter staff aunties came and tried to offer you another balloon to calm you down but you refused to take it. She also offered to carry you but you refused to go near her. In fact, you backed up into Papa instead. Papa’s so glad that you still have a healthy wariness of strangers even in the state that you were in.

Papa’s also quite unhappy with these strangers who come in and try to interfere when parents are trying to reason with their children. Oh well…

Anyway, in the end, Mama messaged to say that she was done so Papa picked up the stuff instead and carried you back to church to meet Mama. You had so totally calmed down by then. Papa related this to Mama and found out that you’d asked for the same thing before at home and Mama couldn’t understand what you wanted then either. Sigh… We hope to find out soon. Poor Baby Gal!

We then drove home and tried to feed you a late dinner before showering you and putting you to bed.

We love you, Lil’ One! And by next year, Che-che Lil’ One! :D

Light-Light!

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work this morning once more. You woke up while Papa was preparing to leave so Papa spent a bit of time with you and fed you your morning milk after changing your diaper. You got to see Papa off. Then you spent a bit of time playing with Mama before you were ready to go back to bed for a nap.

In the afternoon, Aunty Christine, Kor-kor Luke, Che-che Joan and Mei-mei Dawn came to visit. They’d just returned from their holiday in Australia a couple of days before. They’d actually wanted to visit yesterday but as we’d gone off to Sentosa, they had to come today. You spent a bit of time playing with them before they left. You were so cute today. You kept on taking care of Dawn-dawn by petting her and feeding her biscuits. :D

Later in the afternoon, Mama and you went to pick Papa up from his work place. It was raining cats and dogs and visibility was very poor. However, you didn’t see much of that as you were so sleepy and you fell asleep all the way to Papa’s work place.

After picking Papa up, we all headed to Aunty Candy’s place to pick up some things for Mama. While Papa and you were waiting for Mama, we played with the cats at Aunty Candy’s. :D

We then headed off to Wheelock Place to have dinner and walk around the bookstore. We ate at the Simple Life as we’d not eaten there before. You could see the fountain from where we were seated. :D We went to the bookstore after dinner. You got a bit bored of the place after a while. You’d already picked up your book and wandered around the store a bit. You’d also climbed up and down the stairs a few times and tired Papa out. :D Thus, Papa decided to take you out for a walk to see the lights decorating Orchard Road for Christmas.

Papa and you walked down to Ngee Ann City. The buildings weren’t really well decorated this year. However, this was made up for by the beautiful lights adorning the whole stretch of Orchard Road. It was really very nice! :D

Papa and you then headed back to meet up with Mama at the bookstore before heading home. :D

You were so sleepy that you went to bed quite soon after getting home.

Papa and Mama love you!

Sentosa Once More

Dearest Skyler,

We met Popo, Kow-fu and Kow-moh at Sentosa this afternoon for a whole day out! :D We met them at the Beach Carpark where they had some food before we headed off to the small little sandy area near Coastes for you to build sand castles. On the way, you introduced Oscar to them as they’d not realised that that was what the fish was called. :D We then went to the sandy area. However, they were doing some sort of construction work there and the air was very polluted so we decided to leave. In addition, the sun was very harsh then and we felt that it was not a good idea to stay there at all.

We initially thought of heading to the other beaches but as it was really too hot and we were afraid that you might get sun-burnt, we decided to go to the Underwater World instead.

When we got there, we did the usual things like visit the underwater viewing gallery for the sea turtles and pet the fish and rays before going into the main viewing gallery. We went round twice to get a good view of the underwater life. The place was very packed today.

We rushed to the Dolphin Lagoon next so that we could catch the dolphin show. The sun was still very harsh then and you weren’t really interested in the show as you couldn’t see most of what was going on due to the crowd. Instead, you wanted milk which we tried to make for you. The water that Papa got was too hot and thus Mama had to ask for some ice to help cool the milk down quicker. :p

We then took a bus back to the Merlion for dinner at Delifrance. On the way to the deli, we picked up a couple of flowers which you placed behind your ear. You looked so sweet! :D You didn’t really want to eat so we had to finish the food ourselves. After dinner, we headed for our usual vantage point to catch the Songs of the Sea performance. After the show was over, we all headed home. What a fun day with Popo, Bubu and Moh-moh! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Fun Time

Dearest Skyler,

Papa went to school this morning so Mama and you spent the morning together. You’re still taking a post-breakfast milk nap so you generally get up only at about noon or so.

Papa came back a bit after you woke up and we took a long time to get you dressed to go out. We had intended to bring you swimming as you’d said that you wanted to do that but you changed your mind and wanted to visit the zoo instead. Even then, it took us a long time to get you dressed.

We got to the zoo and as both Mama and Papa hadn’t had lunch, we stopped by the KFC for food first. We then entered the zoo. We visited all the usual enclosures; we also visited the sheep but again they were not there. As we were already there and it was about to begin, we stayed to watch the Animal Friends show. It was a much better presentation by the hosts this time round. They really made it quite entertaining though the tricks performed by the dogs were still the same.

After we left the zoo, we dropped by Aunty Patsy's place to pick some stuff up for Mama before proceeding to United Square to settle something at the Swensen’s and buy your dinner.

We then went to Bubu's and Moh-moh's place. We let you stay there to play with them and Popo for the evening.

Mama and Papa went out on a night out and came back very late to pick you up. You were still actively running around and playing with them. They were all so tired out by the long day and also trying to keep up with you as you were so filled with energy! :D

Papa and Mama love you! :D

Disney Princesses

Dearest Skyler,

As we were all quite tired we had to miss church today. We all took a nap after you'd awakened for your breakfast.

After we got up again, we drove down to the Point for lunch.

Before lunch, we brought you to have your fringe trimmed as your hair had gotten long. You were such a good girl! You didn't fuss at all! After your hair cut, we watched the Disney Princess show that was going on downstairs from where we were for a while. It wasn't very long. :p

We then went for lunch at the foodcourt. Mama wasn't feeling very well during lunch due to her morning sickness. Poor Mama!

After lunch, we walked around a bit before heading downstairs to watch the Disney Princesses show close-up! :D Again it wasn’t very long – they did the same thing as before. After that we headed home.

We tried to take a nap as you'd been sleepy the whole afternoon but you didn't want to. Thus, after a while, Papa got up to keep you company so that Mama could rest as she was really tired.

After Mama got up, Papa brought you out to 888 to get dinner. On the way home, you fell asleep in the car and you didn't wake up even after Papa carried you home and placed you on the bed.

After you woke up from your nap, we tried to feed you. You, once again, hardly ate! Sigh... Mama thinks that you will only eat at fixed times. Mama's probably right! We have to try to work out your schedule.

You ended up going to bed very late again.

Papa and Mama love you!

Shopping

Dearest Skyler,

We went for a dim sum lunch at Min Jiang. We hadn't been there for some time. You were so attracted to the swimming pool that you insisted on going out to look at it.

After lunch, we brought Mama to church for her choir practice and Papa brought you to Bras Basah Complex to shop for watches. We visited a few shops but none of them could match the price at the first shop we went to in Peninsula.

After that we walked back to Raffles City to visit the big fountain and the bookshop. As usual, you would pick up a book and find some place to sit down to flip through the book. You always look so cute doing that! :D We then went up to Robinson's to walk around. We found a real rose there. Papa thought of giving it to Mama but you kept on peeling the petals off! :p

We then went back to church to wait for Mama.

After the choir practice was over, we went to the watch shop in Peninsula to buy Papa a watch to commemorate his completing his studies. Thank you, Mama!

We then went to Grandma's for dinner. We ate at the Japanese Village as Mama had not been there before.

After dinner, we went back to Grandma's to help her set up something. You so looked forward to jumping on Grandma's bed. Mama managed to do what we needed. It had taken a fairly long time as the stuff the vendor provided didn't work! But that meant that you had lots of time to jump on Grandma’s bed and play with her coins. :p

We came home very late. Thus, we had to rush to prepare you for bed.

Papa and Mama love you!

Fireworks

Dearest Skyler,

We brought Mama to school for her last exam on the way to her study upgrade today.

After letting her off, Papa and you went off to the zoo. We walked around a big part of the zoo. You have so many poses when taking photos! While at the Polar Bear enclosure, you wanted to have photos taken and refused to leave until Papa snapped a few! :D

On the way out of the zoo, you insisted on walking through the Gift Shop. We also had to stop for our customary Milo!

We then headed home. You were so sleepy, you slept in the car all the way home. Even when Papa brought you up back from the carpark, you were still asleep. Papa thus put you to bed upon arriving home. It was then that Mama messaged to say that she was done! It was so early! We thus had to get down to her school to pick her up.

After we'd gotten back together, we headed to Vivocity as they were celebrating their first anniversary with a fireworks display!

We had dinner at one of the foodcourts before walking around a bit while waiting for the display to begin. You walked into Chameleon to try on hair clips / bands and such.

We went up on the rooftop to wait. You were so patient!

The display was tremendous! It was loud and colourful! Papa recorded a bit of the display and we kept on watching it again and again after that. :D

We headed home after the display.

Papa and Mama love you!

Marina Bay

Dearest Skyler,

You went swimming in the afternoon with Papa. We did our usual thing of walking around the pool and enjoying the feel of being in the water. :D

After we’d cleaned up, we dropped by the Point to return Ah-pek's library books (Ah-Pek had left the books with us when he left to return to his work) and bought spaghetti for Mama and Papa’s lunch. It was quite difficult for Papa to carry you and all the other stuff as well. It helps that you can walk already. :D At least Papa doesn’t have to carry you all the time. :p

In the evening, we brought Mama to church for choir practice.

Papa and you went for a walk. We walked through Citylink to get to the Esplanade. This is quite a cool place to visit as they usually have a performance at the Concourse. We walked through the Esplanade theathres and walked a bit along the bay. We had a view of the Singapore skyline. Mama and Papa spent a lot of time here when we were dating. :D It has lots of memories for us. :D

We caught a piece of the performance at the Concourse in the Esplanade. It was quite interesting as they were using Indian musical instruments to play Chinese music.

We walked back through Citylink to Raffles City. We visited the fountain again before going to Burger King for a cup of Milo. Papa thought that he should get some food to feed his cold but he couldn't leave you to buy any. We ended up buying a sandwich from Subway instead.

We walked back to church to meet Mama.

As we were early, we waited for Mama outside. Papa ate some of his sandwich.

We headed home after Mama was done.

By the time you were ready for bed, it was very late. For someone so young, you really keep late hours, Lil’ One! :p

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler’s 23 Months Old!

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today so you stayed at home with Mama. You woke up at 8 something and asked for your usual milk feed which Mama prepared for you. After that, you went back for your nap.

You were so cute today. Mama was just about to prepare your oats for lunch when you came into the kitchen saying, “Oats, please!” over and over again. :D However, you didn’t finish eating it! :p

Later on, Mama was surprised by your coming up to her with your hands clasped together and asking Mama to “Pray! Pray!” Mama obliged you by praying for you and Papa and our family members. :D We still don’t know what prompted you to want to pray, Lil’ One. But thank God this is a part of you. :D

Mama had intended to bring you swimming but you refused to get changed and it started raining once more so you both were stuck at home. You also seemed quite sleepy in the afternoon. You asked Mama to “Nap! Nap!” and headed for the bed. However, once you were on the bed, you pretended to sleep then got up and wanted to go outside to play. :p However, you did take a nap later on.

In the evening, Mama brought you to pick Papa up from work. We then headed off to Popo’s place to wait for Kow-fu, Kow-moh and her to return from the airport. They had all just returned from overseas where they had gone for a holiday (Bubu and Moh-moh actually came back yesterday late at night). :D

They arrived soon after we got there and they began to give you all the presents they’d brought back! Bubu and Moh-moh gave you ‘Minnie Mouse Ears’! :D Popo got you a pair of shoes and Gong-gong asked Popo to pass you lots of toys! :D They love you so much! Popo then brought you upstairs to jump on her bed and soon everyone joined you both upstairs! :D

As it was getting late and we hadn’t had dinner, we left Popo to go for dinner at United Square. On the way to dinner, you stopped off to play with the lights on the wall of Connectz. We had dinner at Swensen’s where we stuffed ourselves with lots of food and ice cream. You must be one of the few babies in the world that eats so much ice cream! :p We also got a balloon from the Aunty there.

We had to go home after dinner as it was very late already.

Papa and Mama love you!

Shopping!

Dearest Skyler,

We had to go down to town this morning as Mama had an appointment with Dr Wasserman. We let Mama off before going to park our car at the usual car park. Papa then brought you to Forum Galleria to play at the playground since you are now a member there. :D

You were so keen on the things that they had there! You were so excited! :D There were simply several things for you to play with and you tried to play with them all! :D

You climbed into the toy house there but a che-che was very rough and rude. She just climbed into the house after and over you ploughing right into you! She didn’t seem to care that you were physically right there! You were pinned under her and you looked so scared! Papa was very angry with that che-che but Papa did a very commendable job of keeping himself calm while rescuing you. Papa cannot understand why some children do not behave civilly.

You then wanted to sit in the ball bin and you had so much fun there watching the other kor-kors throwing the balls around and jumping into the bin. There was also another boy who just let himself sink into the balls while his Mama(?) threw balls on him to cover him. :D That prompted you to want to lie down on the balls too. :p Papa did his best to ensure that no kor-kor jumped onto you. :p

After a while, you started climbing up onto the gym stuff and climbed all around it ending at the slide which you happily slid down. You’re such a demure girl in a group, Lil’ One. There was a boy that was climbing UP the slide and you just quietly waited at the top of the platform until he went away before you proceeded to slide down. You didn’t even want to stand at the edge of the slide – you stood as far away as possible from it, in fact. Good Girl! :D You enjoyed the slide so much that you kept on climbing up and walking all over the equipment to get to the slide again and again until Mama came to meet us after her appointment. :D

We then moved over to walk around the bookshop for a while before we went over to the fish restaurant for our lunch. They didn’t have the soup that you like today, Lil’ One. Sorry! But you still ate some fish that we had. :D We had stopped by the toy shop opposite the restaurant to look for your favourite elephant but it’s gone, Lil’ One! Sorry!

After lunch, we walked around the bookshop a bit more. You have a habit of picking up a book and wanting to flip through it even though you can’t read as yet. :D It’s so cute when we watch you walking around the whole bookshop with a book in hand and repeating to yourself “Read Book! Read Book!” :D You also kept on wanting to climb up to the top of the stairs to read your book but Papa had to keep on stopping you as we’re not allowed to bring the book up the stairs as an alarm will sound. :p

We then drove down to the Raffles City area.

We walked over to the Peninsula Plaza as we wanted to look for a watch to buy for Papa. We spent a bit of time there looking at watches and you got totally bored! :p However, a lion dance troupe had come to commemorate the opening of a new branch of a big photography chain there and they had left their lions’ heads outside the shop. You kept on wanting to go see the lions and touch the ‘fur’. :D

We then headed for Raffles City where we had an ice cream while sitting at the fountain. The ice cream was the biggest we have ever had – the cone was filled with three big scoops! One for the each of us! :D We sat at the fountain and ate the ice cream until it was all gone! :D We then went to the bookstore to look around and after window shopping for a while, we brought you to the baby’s room where you ended up playing with the colourful chairs that they have there. :D

We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant there where you tried some of Mama’s soba noodles. :D You hardly ate your steamed egg. Oh well… :p After dinner, we quickly looked for some stuff before we headed back to the car and then home.

Papa and Mama love you!

Cranky Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up before 7 a.m. today and only went back to sleep at about 8.30 a.m. You were still so sleepy but didn’t want to go back to sleep. Sigh… Papa stayed up with you until then. You woke up again only close to noon because Mama had left the bed already.

Sigh… you were a fairly cranky girl today. We wanted to bring you out for lunch and a swim this afternoon but you refused to get dressed! You just wanted to lie around and not do anything. Sigh… We think it’s because of your current sleeping schedule. You’re simply not getting enough sleep as you’re going to bed late and waking up early followed by a nap that leaves you tired still. Sigh…

We ate some of the side dishes that we’d packed home from Kenny Rogers’ yesterday for lunch. Then we watched a bit more TV before going back for an afternoon nap. You actually didn’t want to nap though you were obviously tired. We coaxed you to nap and you slept for a couple of hours! :p

We had to wake you up at 7 plus as it was getting late and we had chores to perform.

Mama wanted to do something fun and we wondered whether to go to the Night Safari but decided against it as it really isn’t easy to see the animals in the dark. So ironical! Oh well! :p Oh well… We decided to go shopping instead. We quickly fed you some milk then showered you before heading down to Plaza Singapura.

We had dinner at the foodcourt and you ate some of our food. Then we visited the sheep and walked around a short while before heading to the supermarket to pick up some stuff. You were so helpful as usual. You helped us to put things into the trolley and sort things out. :D

We then headed home.

We love you, Lil’ One.

Sleepy Parents

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up a bit early today and asked for milk. We all got up to feed you and then got you back to bed after a bit of TV watching though you didn’t want to. :p

After that, Papa got up and got everything ready for us to go to church. Papa then woke Mama and you up. By the time we got to church, we were late once more and all of us were so tired and sleepy. :p There was Sunday School today so Mama took you while Papa remained in the service.

Darling, you so love music! They had left the music playing while the students were drawing and instead of drawing, you went over to listen to the music and do the actions to the music. :D Che-ches Eadoin and Wei Ai came to play with you and kept on fussing over you and saying how cute you are! :D

We then left for Marina Square as you wanted to show us the Barney show. You had fallen asleep in the car so we let you sleep for a while until the show was about to start. When we got to the stage area, the whole place was packed with kids and their parents! :D Every time a character came out, everyone would shout out with delight! :D However, you were still too young to really appreciate everything so we left after Barney, Baby Bop and B.J. appeared.

We went to Kenny Rogers for lunch as you said that you wanted to eat your favourite corn. :D You also ate a bit of Mama’s Pot Pie and you enjoyed putting pieces of Papa’s Pita onto a teaspoon with some corn nibblets before eating it all. :D

We walked a bit around the toys on display near the stage area before we headed home.

Papa and Mama were so sleepy that we tried to sleep. However, you were totally awake by then. We let you wander around the room and entertain yourself while we lay in bed. Papa kept on dozing off while Mama watched you from bed. It took you a very long time before you came to bed to sleep! :p

Later in the evening, we headed to the library to return your library books and get a few more. However, as it was quite late, we only had a few minutes there and you were so sad that we had to leave so soon. Sorry, Lil’ One. We’ll come back another day, okay?

We then headed back to the Point to look at possible birthday cakes for your upcoming birthday! :D We’d been told last year that we have to order your cake early or they won’t be able to make it as they’ll be busy making Christmas Logcakes. :p

We had our dinner at Swensen’s and we had ice cream too! :D One of the managers there gave you a colour pencil set! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Meeting People

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early to see Papa off. Papa had to go work. You took a while to go back to sleep with Mama after Papa had left.

You woke up again very late and Mama was almost late for her choir practice. Mama had showered you and tried to dress you but you refused to be dressed for a long time. It was only when Mama was leaving that you agreed to put on clothes! :(

Mama drove you both down to church where you met Godma Audrey who had agreed to care for you while Mama was at her practice.

Godma brought you to Marina Square for the Barney & Friends show. You were just introduced to Barney the Dinosaur this week as they're repeating it on TV. While you were at Marina Square, you asked Godma for ice cream and she brought you to Secret Recipe. You asked for chocolate flavoured ice cream. :D

You both then walked around for a while before the show started. You so enjoyed it that you refused to leave to return to Mama. Godma had to coax you to do so.

After you got back to church, Godma remarked again how you were so easy to care for. You also kept on repeating Baby Bop's name! :D Initially, we couldn’t figure out what you were saying. It was only when we checked up on the characters in the Barney show that we figured it out. Sorry, Lil’ One! How did you catch that name and remember it so clearly that you repeated it so many times? :D

Mama then drove you home.

After you both got back to our carpark, you were still so sleepy that Mama let you sleep in the car for a while. After some time, Mama woke you up but you refused to be taken out of your seat! :p Mama finally brought you home and let you sleep in bed some more.

Mama's friends, Aunties Lulu and Lynette came to visit and they had brought lots of food. While they were eating and catching up with each other, you kept on pulling Mama away. :p

Papa finally got home and cared for you. You were so sleepy still. Mama and her friends decided to adjourn their catching up to the nearby fast food restaurant so that you could go to sleep.

You didn't want to let Mama go so her friends suggested that they go first and Mama could catch up with them after you'd been put to bed. You refused to sleep and wanted to take a walk instead so we brought you to the Duckie Mobile to pick up Squid-Squid. After that you let Mama go.

Papa brought you home to watch a bit of TV before going to bed. We gave you your own pillow but you didn't really use it. :p
Papa and Mama love you!

Airport Terminal 3

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work this morning.

Mama took care of you and you both did the usual rounds of TV watching and toy playing. :D Papa came home a bit later.

We quickly rushed off to the airport to meet Ah-Pek and Grandma; Ah-Pek was returning to Cambodia since his work here had ended.

We met them at the foodcourt where we had our lunch. While we were still eating, Ah-Pek suddenly said that he was going to board his flight as he was very sleepy. He hadn't had much sleep the whole week. Thus, we said our goodbyes there in the foodcourt. We finished our lunch and headed for the new Terminal 3 with Grandma as they were having an Open House to show it off before it was opened for operations on 8th January 2008. It was a fairly long walk to the terminal. :(

They had a guided tour which we joined. The guide brought us to the different sections that they thought would be of interest to the public. We were brought into the transit and arrival areas and saw the general layout of the place. It was all very big and open. :D The chairs were fairly comfortable. :D The guide wasn’t really effective though so we ended up wandering around by ourselves taking photos for the most part. :p

When the tour ended we headed back to our car. This entailed walking across the whole length of Terminals 3 then 2 again! Thankfully we could use the Skytrain to get to Terminal 2! It was a super long walk! :p

We drove over to Tampines Ikea for dinner. While we were walking to the restaurant, Papa thought you peed as he felt a sensation of warmth. Papa didn't realise then that the diaper hadn't absorbed your urine and it had permeated your shorts and onto Papa's shirt! :D Papa only realised that when he was bringing you to change your diaper. :p Thus we both had to change our shirts! :D We hadn’t brought a pair of shorts for you to change so we could only change your diaper.

You didn't want to eat until Mama brought a hand puppet over to keep you entertained. :D It took us a long time to feed you and ourselves.

After dinner, we walked around for a while in the children’s section before bringing Grandma home and heading home ourselves.
Papa and Mama love you!

Swimming

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go for the second day of the Conference today. This left poor ill Mama to care for you on her own.

As Mama was still ill, Papa came back home for lunch again so that Papa could care for you. After lunch, we took a nap.

After we got up, Mama rushed off to church for her choir practice while Papa and you headed off to the pool.

We stayed in the pool for about an hour. There were several families and children there as it was the school holidays already. There were several boys there who were quite rough and didn't seem to care that other people were near them and could have been hurt by their activities. :( You must never be like that, ok? It's really not nice.)

Papa then asked you if we could leave the pool. You didn't want to leave but didn't make too much of a fuss when Papa grabbed you and headed off to the changing room for a shower. Thank you!

As we were driving off, it started raining cats and dogs! Thank God we left when we did. The downpour was so sudden! :p

Mama came home soon after we got back and we did our usual things before turning in.
Papa and Mama love you!

Sickly Parents

Dearest Skyler,

Your parents were so sickly today, Lil' One. Papa had gone off to attend a conference in the morning and he was already feeling lethargic there.

Mama was also suffering from a bad cold and had to ask Papa to come home to care for you. Thus Papa walked out during the lunch break to go home to do so but he was actually quite worn out as well.

Mama went to bed sometime after lunch and Papa was hoping to do so too but you refused to nap! Thus, Papa and you just sat in the Living Room with the TV on. Papa sat on the sofa dozing off and you were wandering around playing. So sorry, Lil' One!

Papa took a nap after Mama woke up as he was still very very tired. Mama was also struggling but she allowed Papa to nap. Thank you, Mama!

Papa then went out to buy some dinner and after dinner, we watched more TV before we went to bed.

While we were trying to get to sleep, all of a sudden, we heard you fall off the bed! Poor Baby Gal! Thankfully, you didn't seem to have been hurt beyond some superficial pain and lots of shock! :(

We love you, Lil' One!

Fountain

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today so you had time to play with Mama at home.

Later in the afternoon, Mama and you came to pick Papa up from work and we drove down to Suntec City for a walk.

We had our lunch at Fish & Co. When we got there, there was a Mediacorp crew filming and we were wondering if the place was open for business. There were a few people sitting around in there and Papa thought that they were customers but we realised later that they were extras used to fill up the background of the shoot.

Mama asked the Fish and Co staff if we could eat there and they replied in the affirmative.

Several times during our meal, the extras started moving around and we're not sure if we ended up in their shoot! We sure hope not! :p

You so love eating the mushroom soup there, Lil' One! You ate one whole bowl and after that had quite a bit of the second one we ordered. :p

After lunch, we brought you to the fountain as you wanted to visit it. They had opened the path to the centre part so we brought you right up to it. :D You appeared to be a bit apprehensive about being so close to the gushing water though. :p

We also brought you to visit the Koi Garden and Papa bought ourselves some fish food so that we could feed the fish. Your tiny fingers could only grip one piece of the food at a time and you were slowly throwing this one piece in to the fish and turtles. :p This was taking so long that Papa decided to help you out. :D There were a few kinds of fishes in there. The scum-sucking fish also wanted some food and a couple of them had to turn themselves upside down to get it! So poor thing! They had to do that as their mouths are at the bottom of their heads so that they can suck up the algae at the bottom of the pond or along the walls.

We walked around the place after that and totally enjoyed ourselves. We came across an SPCA doggie figure (something they use to collect donations) and you wanted to touch it. :D We went shopping at Fox Kids and you tried on hats. We went to the roof top garden to look at the small fountain there. We couldn't play with the slide as it was drizzling though you wanted to.

We went for dinner at Kenny Rogers where you had your corn again. :D You were really sleepy by then. Thankfully, you managed to last through the meal. We had to pull out everything we had in our bags to let you play with and entertain yourself though. :p

After dinner, we went back to the fountain as they were going to put on a laser show. The whole fountain was activated so water was everywhere! :D You were so enthralled! :D You even insisted that we sit down to watch the show for a while. :D

We went home after that. :D

We love you!

Day Out With Godma

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to work today and we had asked Godma Audrey to come play with you.

You were still sleeping when Godma arrived. You were so thrilled when you woke up and saw her. :D

Godma and Mama brought you to the swimming pool for a swim but before you all entered the pool, Mama thought that you should have lunch first. You all ate at the restaurant beside the pool. You seemed to enjoy the food there. :D

By the time you entered the pool, it was about to start to rain. You all were in the water for only about 5 minutes before it started pouring! You all had to get out and changed as the rain was so heavy.

You all then left for Ikea at Alexandra. You were so cute there! They had set up some Christmas decorations. One of these was a dining table set up and they had placed polar bears around the table. You went around putting their paws together to say grace! :D

You all then came home after that. Godma sent Mama and you all the way home. Thank you, Godma! You so love Godma so much! :D You have absolutely no hesitation in wanting to meet her! That’s so sweet! Yay, Godma!

Papa came home soon after. We all took a nap before going down to the Point for dinner.

We love you, Lil' One!

Children’s Church

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up at 4.37 am and Papa carried you until 5.45 am. Every time Papa tried to put you down onto your own bed, you would wake up and cling onto Papa. :p After a while you got very heavy! Papa’s arms started feeling strained and when Papa carried you the usual way, Papa’s arms actually trembled! :p In the end, Papa gave up and let you sleep on our bed. :p You went to sleep immediately after that! :p The funny thing was that Papa didn’t know what time it was and how much time he’d spent carrying you! :D

Papa then made sure that we woke up in time to get to church as we’d missed it the past couple of times. There was Children’s Church today so we kept you outside for it. You were intially unwilling to sit in and it took a lot of coaxing before you were willing to sit in for it with Mama.

You gave one of your Little Tikes surfing penguin toys to Kor-kor Callum today. :D

Che-ches Eadoin and Wei-ai also came to play with you. :D Che-che Eadoin loves you so much that she kept on trying to carry you. But you’re really getting a bit heavy for these younger che-ches to do so safely. :D

You’re such a hardy little girl, Darling. Mama told Papa that many of the kor-kors were very unaware of themselves and they accidentally hit you a couple of times as they went about their business but you never made any noise. You’re such a good girl! :D

After the service, we went to Raffles City to meet Kow-fu and Kow-moh. They had lunch at the deli while we chatted with them. As they had to attend to something, they left first. We then bought some food stuff before heading home.

You were so sleepy that you fell asleep in the car immediately upon being placed in your seat. Even so, after we got home, we all took a nap. Actually, you didn’t really want to sleep but we were so sleepy and we just lay in bed. You spent a bit of time walking around the room to play before finally giving up trying to wake us up and came to join us. :p We all woke up quite late as we were so exhausted.

After we woke up, we went down to the Point for a spaghetti dinner and bought some groceries before coming home.

We’ve given up trying to get you to sleep any earlier than midnight, Lil’ One. We believe that lots of parents will be aghast if they knew about it. Most little ones would be asleep before 10 p.m.! But you always refuse to sleep and we spend so much time trying to get you to do so. Thus, we’ve given up and we just let you stay up until you’re ready to sleep so that we don’t go through so much hassle. :p

We love you, Lil’ One!

Singapore River

Dearest Skyler,

We spent the whole day at home, Lil’ One. We took a nap in the afternoon as we were quite sleepy. After we woke up, we got ready to leave our place.

We were going to meet Uncle James and his fiance today. They’d just come to Singapore from China this afternoon. Uncle James is Papa’s ‘God-brother’. He’s working in China for a few years. He and his fiance were staying over at a hotel near the Singapore River.

We drove down to the hotel to meet Grandma and them and then we all walked over to the Riverside Indonesian Restaurant for dinner. We’d never been there before and we wanted to try the food there. As it was quite crowded, we had to wait a while so we took a few photos at the fountain nearby and also looked at the boats travelling along the river.

You are getting so good at having your photo taken, Lil’ One. There is one photo that you took at the fountain that was so totally cool! :D You’ve developed certain poses that always amazes us as they look so cool! Where did you learn them? :D

You also took a bit of time to warm up with Uncle James and his fiance. But after you did, you so totally amused them with your playing with them and talking to them. Before we left, you gave them hugs and this also made them so happy. :D

We brought Grandma back to the nearby hotel that she was staying over at as Pek-pek had booked a room there but he wasn’t using it. When we got there, you asked to jump on one of the beds and Grandma allowed you to. You so enjoy jumping on beds, Lil’ One.

We left soon after as it was getting late and we needed to get home to rest.

We love you!

Christmas Lights!

Dearest Skyler,

This morning, Papa had to go school for a meeting so Mama and you were alone today. You played at home until the afternoon until you were so sleepy that you went to sleep. You napped until Mama woke you! You were so tired!

Mama quickly dressed you and in her rush to leave, she almost forgot to bring our camera. It was not until you posed at door that she remembered it. :D Good job, Lil’ One! Both of you came to pick Papa up from school.

We then drove down to Mama's school to get something done. She did it in a jiffy. :D

We went to Forum Galleria to sign you up for membership of the Hip Kids so that you could use the playground there. We also signed you up for gym classes with The Little Gym. It is not cheap but you like it so much that we had to sign you up for it! :D We really hope that you’ll like it. Mama’ll have to bring you to it every week next year as Papa’ll be returning to work. :D

Mama then brought you to the playground to play. It had a pit of plastic balls, slides, a see-saw, a toy house, cars and bicycles, etc. You had so much fun exploring the place. We let you into the pit of balls and you really struggled to move in there. Poor Lil’ One! You’re still too small to move around in there. You had some fun on the slides and exploring the toy house. :D

After a while, we went to Cedele for dinner at Wheelock Place. We had soup, a sandwich, some bread and a slice of cake. You tried everything! Yay! :D

After dinner, we went across the road to look at the M&Ms hut and also at the Christmas lights down Orchard Road. They’ve already lit up the whole road for Christmas, Lil’ One! Cool! Christmas is coming! :D You were so totally impressed with the fairy lights. It was really dazzling. :D

We walked around Borders for a short while before heading home. You didn’t ask to climb the stairs today. You simply grabbed a book from the entrance and brought it to the children reading steps and sat there playing with your book. :D

We love you, Lil’ One!

Swimming

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to attend a school event in the afternoon so Papa had to leave Mama and you alone today.

Mama spent the day watching over you and playing with you at home.

Papa brought dinner back with him and after dinner, Mama had to rush off to attend her class in church. This then left Papa with you! :D

Papa brought you to the swimming pool as you wanted to play with the water there even though you were so sleepy. When we got there, the pool wasn’t crowded at all! :D Thus, we had lots of space to do our thing. :D

You so enjoy the water, Lil’ One. You also started playing with lying down on the water surface. You kept on telling Papa, “sleep, sleep” and Papa would carry you horizontally on the water surface and you’d squeal with delight! :D Then you asked Papa to do the same. :D You still keep on asking Papa for permission to play with the ladder in the pool and Papa has to keep on telling you that Mama doesn’t allow it as it is dangerous! :p Thankfully, you’re an obedient girl and you’ve not tested Papa on this. :D

When it was time to leave the pool, you again refused and Papa had to keep on talking to you to coax you but you still refused. In the end, Papa just carried you out of the pool but you didn’t really protest then. Papa took you to the changing room to dry ourselves before putting you in the car. You fell asleep immediately! We came straight home to shower.

Papa then had his dinner and Mama came home soon after.

We love you, Lil’ One!

Fireworks!

Dearest Skyler,

You insisted on sleeping on our bed in the middle of the night resulting in our being unable to sleep as you took up so much of the bed and we had no space to move! :( Papa tried to put you in your own bed but you refused so we had no choice but to leave you on our bed. We gave up trying to sleep and got up to do our stuff.

However, while we were outside, Papa suddenly heard a thud and dashed into the room to see what had happened. Papa assumed that you’d fallen off the bed as he couldn’t see a thing when he entered the room as it was in total darkness and Papa’s eyes can’t adjust that quickly. Papa just assumed that you’d fallen off from his side of the bed and stuck his arms out to reach out for you and to his surprise, he managed to hold onto you at your arm level. You were very quiet and we guess you were in shock. However, you seemed to be okay overall – there wasn’t any bump anywhere and you weren’t clutching any part of yourself in pain. Thank God! However, you really were shocked awake so it took you quite a bit of time before you were ready to go back to sleep.

While we are all awake, we had breakfast. It was also raining then and as it was so cold, the windows frosted up and Mama and you started doing finger drawings on the windows. :D Mama likes to introduce you to rain watching as it is one of our hobbies. :D It’s always fascinating to see the rain from the comforts of our own home. :D

After some time, you finally were ready to sleep again. You still didn’t want to sleep in your own bed so we let you sleep between us. By this time, we were so exhausted that we just went to sleep. :D

After waking up, we went to the Point for a bao-bao lunch. You insisted on bringing your big inflatable star with you to the car! :D (This is the star that was actually your lantern for the Mid-Autumn Festival.) :D You ate a bit of food. We then headed off for Sentosa as we wanted to spend the afternoon there and catch the fireworks display once more. You slept in the car all the way. :D

Once we arrived there, we brought you to the small patch of beach near Coastes and laid out our mat. We had brought your spade, scoop, rake and bucket along so we tried to build simple sand towers. You got sand all over yourself and our mat! :D

After that, we headed off the Palawan Beach to visit the tower at the Southernmost Point again. You were extremely reluctant to sit in the tram but we still sat in it as we didn’t want to walk so much. At the first tram stop you wanted to get off but we remained on it until we got to where we wanted to go. It wasn’t so windy today but still the view was great! :D While crossing back over the bridge, a lifeguard from the Beach Patrol spoke to us about the marine life in the water under the bridge and a bit about his work experience. He pointed out to us a few of the sand crabs that were crawling around in the water and three big fish that were swimming together. There were dozens of half-beak fish swimming in the water too.

He also shared that his job is not to save people but to educate people about not putting themselves in danger. :D That’s an important lesson for us all, Lil’ One. :D

We wanted to head back to the Beach Front then. We asked you if you wanted to take the tram but you were still unwilling so we walked all the way back to the Merlion from the beach as we wanted to get some dinner before the fireworks display from the Songs of the Sea show. While we walked, Mama spotted a seashell on the beach and passed it to you. You took care of it so well! We decided to bring it back and put it in your box of tricks as a memento of the day. :D

We ate at the Delifrance and you enjoyed the mushroom soup even though we thought that it was overly salty. :p

After dinner, we walked down to our vantage point to watch the show and catch the fireworks. You were still scared of the sound the fireworks make but you still wanted to watch it. :D

After that, we headed home. You fell asleep in the car once you were in your seat! You must have been so tired out.

Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One.

Corn Nibblets!

Dearest Skyler,

Mama didn’t sleep the whole night as she had to complete her work and send it off today. Thus, it was a good thing that you were fairly sleepy and took two naps today. We spent a lazy day at home for the most part.

For meals, we had some leftover food and Uncle James’s foccacia! It was very yummy bread! You enjoyed it so much that you kept on asking for more! :D

In the evening, we decided to bring Mama out for some leisure as she’d been stuck at home rushing work the whole weekend. On the way to the car park, we dropped by Uncle James’s to thank him for the yummy foccacia.

We drove down to Suntec City where we had dinner at Kenny Roger’s Roasters. You so enjoyed eating the corn nibblets before so we got it for you again. You ate so much of it. :D You ate most of our side dishes as you didn’t really like the chicken. You also enjoyed the muffin. :D

After dinner, you wanted to look at the fountain so we brought you to view it. The music was being played very loudly then and you didn’t like it so we left.

We went over to the supermarket to do some shopping and we bought another four bags of diapers for you as it was even cheaper than at the Point! :D We also picked up quite a bit of stuff and you were so very helpful in putting the items into our trolley. :D

The supermarket was having some sort of Christmas promotion where we could buy a polar bear at a discount but when we saw it, we decided not to get it as we were afraid that it would pick up dust mites and such as it was very furry. Sorry, Lil’ One! Anyway, it wasn’t as if you liked it so much. :p

We then headed home as it was very late.

We kept you up until it was quite late before putting you to bed. Mama’s slowly clearing up the stuff we’ve placed in your room so that we can start making it look like your room soon. :D

Mama joined us to put you to bed tonight as she’d needed to take a break from work and coupled with the lateness, you fell asleep quite soon. :D

Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One!

The Days Are Just Packed!

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work this morning so Mama took care of you the whole morning and a big part of the afternoon! :D

You really have a very unladylike habit of sitting with your legs hanging out of the high chair, Lil’ One. It’s very rude especially when you place your feet or footwear on the dining table. You’ve to stop doing that.

Papa came back in the afternoon bearing lunch and we ate before Papa brought you out.

We headed for the zoo as the weather was quite good and you wanted to go see the elephants. As we were approaching our carpark, we bumped into Aunty Christine and the kids! :D They were guessing where we were going and they correctly guessed that we were going to the zoo! :D

When we got there, Papa took a slightly different path to see what we could see.

We managed to catch one of the white tigers going into the pool of water that separated their enclsoure from the visitors. It didn’t go in very far before turning back. Hmmm… is it afraid of the water?

We also stopped by the Australian Outback exhibit where we came face-to-face with a wallaby. The enclosure where feeding takes place was open and there were a couple of wallabies sitting there playing with the visitors.

We then walked by the Hamadryas Baboons exhibit. There was such a large tribe of baboons there! :D

We carried on to the Elephants of Asia enclosure to look at the elephants! :D There were only two of them in at that time. We stayed to look at them for a while but you very quickly started got more interested in climbing the stairs. :p While we were heading to the next area, we happened to pass by the elephant rides area and we saw two big elephants heading home. They were so huge up close! :D

We passed by the Splash Safari Amphitheatre and you wanted to look at the penguins, so we did. They were in their air-conditioned room and they looked so cute and adorable as usual. We then went to the sculptures of the sealions and you had the grandest time petting each of them and sitting on those you could! :D You also started trying to lift them! :p Papa was so amused by that! You obviously weren’t really trying but you went through the motions of doing that! :D

We then headed out. You had wanted to see the sheep but Papa was tired and didn’t want to head back into the zoo again as we were already near the exit. Another time, okay?

At the exit, you walked around the gift shop for a while before we headed back to the car to head home. To Papa’s surprise, you refused the customary Milo drink. It was going to turn out to be a day of surprises for Papa.

After we got home, we quickly changed into our swimming gear and we headed out again. :D

As it had been raining, Papa was afraid that the water would be too cold. However, it wasn’t too bad. :D The whole wading pool was empty when we got there so the pool was like a private pool just for the two of us! :D It was only later on that more people came.

Papa didn’t want to let you stay in the pool for too long as you had just recovered from your cold and the water wasn’t really that warm so Papa kept on telling you how much time you had left in the water. To Papa’s surprise, with more ten minutes to go, you just walked out of the water and headed for our stuff. Papa was initially wondering what you were doing when you kept on asking for your towel. Papa asked if you wanted to go off and you said that you did! :p Imagine Papa’s surprise! :p

Papa then brought you for a shower before we headed back to buy food for dinner and headed home! :D

After dinner, we once again put you to bed. Mama tried to comfort you by staying with us for a while to wait for you to fall asleep but since you didn’t for quite a bit of time, she had to go off to do her work and you were totally distressed once more. Papa then comforted you again until you calmed down then put you on our bed to let you fall asleep.

While that was going on, Aunty Chris brought up some foccacia that Uncle James had baked today. Thank you Uncle James and Aunty Chris!

Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One!

Welcome Home, Pek-Pek!

Dearest Skyler,

We missed church today as Papa had set his alarm clock wrongly and you only woke up after the service had started. :p

We spent most of the day at home. You were very naughty once again in the afternoon. You again threw things onto the floor when Mama told you not to. We decided that this could not be allowed to carry on so we had to teach you not to do this again.

We scolded you for a very long while and insisted that you pick up the things you threw and also say ‘sorry!’ to Mama. Even though you kept on crying and wanting us to carry you, we told ourselves that you had to learn to behave properly. So, even though Papa did carry you, we still insisted that you pick up the toys and say ‘sorry’. You cried yourself until you were tired so we stopped and let you sleep first. After you got up, Papa got you to pick up the things which you readily did and you also said ‘sorry!’ to Mama. That’s a good girl! :D

Later in the afternoon, Papa brought you down to Grandma’s for dinner as Pek-pek had come back from Cambodia for a working trip and we wanted to welcome him back. Mama wanted to come along but she was still rushing her work so only Papa and you went.

When we got to Grandma’s, you asked to play on her bed as you usually do. Grandma lets you jump on her bed and you so enjoy that! :D Pek-pek then messaged Grandma to inform her that he would wait for us at the coffeeshop so we went down to meet him.

You once again were very shy with Pek-pek. You refused to say ‘hi!’ or even look at hime for a while. After dinner, Pek-pek went off to do some shopping and that was when you started asking for him. You had not greeted him while he was sitting next to you but when he went off, you asked ‘Pek-pek where?’ :D

We went back upstairs to Grandma’s to spend a bit more time with her and Pek-pek before we headed home. You once again, asked Grandma to let you play on her bed. :D When Pek-pek was leaving for his hotel, you gave him a good-bye hug. :D

On our way home, we stopped over at the Point to pick up some dinner for Mama.

At home, once again, you were totally distressed that Mama didn’t come to bed with you and Papa as Mama had to continue with her work. Papa had to bring you into the bedroom and calm you down before you finally settled down and prepared to sleep. It took quite a bit of time but you finally fell asleep. Papa had to go in to work the next day, so Papa decided to sleep too.

Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One!

Happy Deepavali Aunty Shobha!

Dearest Skyler,

We didn’t do much today in the day time. However, in the evening, Papa brought you down to Aunty Shobha’s (Papa’s colleague’s) place for a Deepavali celebration. Mama had to stay home to do some work.

When we got to Aunty Shobha’s you were very shy once again and didn’t want to go in to her place. Papa had to carry you in. There were lots of people there and you were quite uncomfortable so you stuck with Papa the whole time. Papa managed to catch up with a few of his colleagues and also had a short conversation with Aunty Shobha’s sister, Aunty Radha(?) who’d just returned for a visit from the US. She’s a doula there, Lil’ One. That’s someone who helps out with a Mama with her delivery of a new baby! That’s so cool! :D As Papa and you had to get dinner for Mama, we decided to leave after a while. However, Aunty Shobha’s husband refused to let us leave without eating and when he heard that we had to get dinner for Mama, he insisted on packing some food for us to bring home. He was such a kind and hospitable host! :D After thanking them for the food, we headed downstairs to watch the kor-kors and che-ches play with sparklers and flash-bangs. You were so fascinated by them. :D We then headed home after that.

After we got home, we had our dinner then you started playing with the tambourine that Kow-fu and Kow-moh got you. You had such fun with it! :D

We then put you to bed. You were so sad that Mama couldn’t come to bed with Papa and you! Mama had to continue with her work. Mama had spent the whole night for the past week working on it and she had to rush the last bits as the deadline was looming. It took a bit of time for Papa to calm you down and get you to sleep. You’ve taken to falling asleep on our bed, Lil’ One. You’ll insist on lying on our bed and fall asleep there. You hardly want us to carry you anymore. It’s only after you fall asleep that Papa puts you back on your own bed to sleep. :p

Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One!
