A “Sickish” Day Out

Dear Sweet Baby Girl,

What a day we had today! We decided to go to Suntec City today to shop, but we ended up doing no shopping at all there!

First of all, we were stuck in a traffic jam for a long time on the way there. After a while, Mama started to feel really queasy. Once we got there, Papa and Mama got some food in the hope that Mama would feel better.

After that, we fed you your milk, then we brought you to Toys ’R Us for a walk.

As we were about to leave the place, you vomited all over Papa’s shirt! You looked totally fine, so we thought you had perhaps just spat up your milk. So we got you cleaned up quickly and Papa went back to the car to pick up your spare change of clothes.

While waiting for Papa, Mama brought you into another shop to take a look. Before Mama even knew it, you vomited on Mama’s shoulder! An auntie actually alerted Mama to it. Kudos to her for remaining so calm and nice!

We got you cleaned up again and changed you into your clean clothes, then we brought you to Fox Baby to get you more clothes in case you vomited again. While Mama was picking out clothes for you there, you sat in your stroller and vomited yet again, this time all over your stroller! Mama saw you vomit this time round, and you seemed perfectly fine throughout the whole process. It’s all very strange. This was the third time you’d vomited, but you didn’t look unwell at all!

So once again, we got you cleaned up and changed, this time into your brand new Fox Baby clothes. Papa had to wash your stroller padding too before we could leave the place.

Though you looked absolutely fine, we decided to take you to your doctor. Before we left Suntec City, however, you vomited a fourth time! This time, Papa was quick and managed to tilt you over in time so you vomited onto the floor and not onto anybody’s clothes.

You were SO tired after having vomited four times in two hours you fell asleep in Mama’s arms before we even reached the car. Your friendly doctor, whom we affectionately term “Balloon Uncle” because he always pumps up a nice little balloon for you when you see him in the clinic, thought that you had stomach flu. But since you looked fine once you got up from your nap in the car, we didn’t feed you the medicine.

What a harrowing day! We truly thank God that you’re alright, that despite all the vomiting, you were in high spirits and still smiled and played with us throughout.

You’re a real blessing, Sweet Skyler! Papa and Mama are SO glad to have you in our lives!
